Restylane® is an internationally leading cosmetic treatment. The Restylane family of dermal fillers excels at smoothing out lines and wrinkles while accentuating facial contours, improving the quality of the skin and fading away static lines. As one of the world’s first dermal skin fillers, it has been used safely for more than a decade.

Restylane is approved by most jurisdictions for treating patients with various medical conditions of the face. In fact it’s among the most used brands in Europe, Asia and North America, with an estimated 11 million-plus treatments carried out globally.

Rstylane is a non-animal stabilized hyaluronic acid gel (NASHA) manufactured through streptococci bacteria fermentation. It doesn’t require skin tests before treatment.

At Sharma Skin and Hair Surgery, Dr. Sharma injects crystal-clear Restylane gel into your skin in small quantities with a fine needle, adding volume to fill out sunken lines and wrinkles. The gel contains a minimally altered hyaluronic acid just like the hyaluronic acid naturally found in the body. It gradually breaks down over time (from a few months to a year or more), leaving the treated area without any trace of the filler.

More than four million people around the world have used Restylane since its launch into the market.

Restylane with Lidocaine, Restylane and Perlane have been available since 2009.

Originally made by Qmed and now owned by Galderma, Restylane dermal filler syringes start from $650, with prices dependent on the areas to be treated, the time required and the patient’s budget.

Pharmaceutical companies often offer promotions to physicians; it’s Dr. Sharma’s philosophy to pass these savings on to the patient. Pricing is discussed during the consultation so the patient is made fully aware of all costs.

The Restylane suite

The range of Restylane dermal fillers includes Touch, Restylane and Perlane.

  1. Restylane Touch
Touch has the smallest particles and is injected into the upper dermis. It is used to address fine lines in delicate areas such as the eyes and brow lines.
  2. Restylane Functions
Restylane functions best when injected into the middle layer of the dermis. It is used for lip enhancement, moderate wrinkles and medium lines in frown and cheek areas.
  3. Restylane Perlane
Perlane has larger gel particles. It’s the treatment of choice for facial contouring, deep lines, volume loss, nose augmentation and non-surgical rhinoplasty procedures. Perlane is unsuitable for lip enhancement. It is ideal for men due to the larger quantity of product required. Perlane has a great ability to lift and add volume to aging areas like the cheek and jaw.

Other formulations in the Restylane range include Lipp, SubQ, Vital, and Vital Light. Vital Light is targeted at such places as the neck, face, decolletage (the region between the neck and breasts) and hands.

Restylane lip filler guide

Fashion and culture are always changing. A Restylane treatment is long-lasting but not permanent. Hence, it enables you to change your appearance with time. Lip enhancement is extremely simple with Restylane Dermal Fillers. Usually injected under a local anesthetic, the lip filler makes the lips fuller, regaining their natural look. Dr. Sharma prefers to fill lips so they look elegant and youthful, not the overdone “duck lips” look.

Lip line

A defined lip line accentuates your lips without altering your look too much. Restylane enhances your lip in a way that’s smooth and natural.

Cupid’s bow

Cupid’s bow is the area of the lip just underneath the nose that makes the “M” shape. Male and female patients may not want fuller lips but simply extra definition of this important feature. Restylane offers a variety of dermal fillers for accentuating the area naturally and elegantly.

Smile and frown lines

Perhaps smiling has given you unwanted lines around the cheeks. Restylane can smooth out those lines in a way that looks natural.

Lip volume

Dermal fillers such as Restylane allow you to decide how your lips look, big or small, contoured or simple/ With Restylane the choice is yours.

Smoker’s lips or lipstick lines

Even if you’ve never smoked, you may have developed small lines around your mouth. To prevent the underlying muscle from causing deeper permanent creases, you can smooth these lines out with Restylane.
